Private Tour | Doi Inthanon National Park adventure tour (rainy season)
This tour is available only during the rainy season from 1st of June until 31st October.
Also known as "The Roof of Thailand", Doi Inthanon is the highest point in Thailand at 2,565 meters above the sea level. Locally known mostly for its cool weather all year round, it is one of the best national parks in northern Thailand, home to many waterfalls and a popular destination for birders. The park has a great diversity of forest types throughout different altitudes. At the higher altitudes the forests are humid all year round.
A day-tour in Doi Inthanon National Park includes hiking, visiting the highest point in Thailand, Two Chedis, waterfalls and Hmong hill-tribe market.
This is an example itinerary. The program may change depending on weather conditions, accessibility issues or any other obstacles. On eventual change of the itinerary we always make sure that the quality of our guests experience and personal safety are safeguarded.
From 8 a.m. to about 5-6 p.m.
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel with a a/c minibus 8 a.m. in the early morning. Our first stop will be the summit of Doi Inthanon which is the highest point in Thailand, we will drive all the way to the top. After spending some time at the top and enjoying the view we will visit the Two Chedis that has been constructed to honour 60th birthday anniversaries of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit. Before the afternoon session we will stop by at a Hmong market where products from the Royal Project are for sale and eat lunch at a local restaurant.
After the lunch, we will get to the starting point of the Doi Inthanon trekking for a two hours long trekking accompanied by a Karen guide. Along this route we will cross a river several times, see a majestic multi-tiered waterfall cascading towards a Karen village called Ban Mae Klang Luang where our trek ends. At the village we will spend some time to learn about coffee cultivation. You can taste a delicious cup of Mae Klang Luang coffee, if you like. On the late afternoon you will be taken back to your hotel.

We had a wonderful time touring Doi Inthanon national park via the Thai National Parks site and service. Our driver and guide arrived on time, took us on a full day excursion of the temple and surrounding rain forests, as well as a walking tour to end our trip. The day was cool and our guides were helpful in taking pictures and giving us all the information we needed to know. Thank you!

The tour through Doi Inthanon was the perfect end to our time in Chiang Mai. The tour was very well paced for each stop and ended with a fantastic hike. The hike was through a beautiful mix of waterfalls and forest into landscapes of merrygold and strawberry fields. Our guide Gun was fantastic and really added to our trip. Highly recommended experience for exploring Northern Thailand.

Our guide Mr. Narong made a perfect job. We really appreciate for every information he gave us. We also want to thank our local Karen guide Waew for being there for us guiding our walk and giving yummy oranges to us. We are really happy. For the next trip to Northern Thai we certainly will book on thainationalparks.com again.

Taksin, our guide, was wonderful. He has a terrific sense of humor but was also very knowledgable and quite spiritual about the environment. He showed us many of the plants used by locals for medicine. He and the local guide were most solicitous with us making sure we were safe on some of the more tricky parts of the trail. I have a bum knee and was always offered a hand for stability. I would surely recommend this trip and especially recommend Taksin.

My family and me really enjoyed the Tour. The guide really took care and helped us to get a impressive view in the Park. Our favorit aktivity was the walking Tour through the rainforest and coffee-tasting. Many thanks to the guide and driver. Regards

We loved the trip. Even with bad weather we had a lot of fun being able to trek through the jungle and see cool sights.
Chai was a great guide and super knowledgeable and Joe looked after our friend when she was unable to come trekking.
